Challenge
Cape Union Mart was beginning to lose relevance and market share with a younger Gen Z audience. The challenge was to create a modern brand identity system that could reconnect the brand with a new generation of adventurers, while still honouring its outdoor heritage and credibility. The campaign/brand needed to feel culturally current, emotionally driven, and flexible enough to work seamlessly across retail, digital, and social environments.
Insight
Adventure today is no longer reserved for extreme explorers. It lives in everyday moments, shared experiences, and personal journeys. People are connected not just by the outdoors, but by the feeling of discovery, courage, and belonging that comes with it.
Solution
We developed “Connected by Adventure”, a bold visual identity system designed to unite lifestyle storytelling, product communication, and retail experiences under one cohesive campaign world. Using cinematic photography, high-contrast typography, and a modular design framework, the system was built to scale seamlessly across social, in-store, digital, and campaign applications while reinforcing Cape Union Mart’s position as a modern outdoor lifestyle brand.
